Leading stakeholders in Nigeria’s maritime, transport and logistics sectors have applauded the Founder of ABC Transport Plc, Mr. Frank Nneji, for his enduring contributions to the growth and transformation of the country’s transport industry.

The tributes came on Thursday during the 10th anniversary celebration of City Business News Online in Lagos, where industry leaders gathered to reflect on the achievements of businesses and individuals that have contributed to Nigeria’s economic development.

Delivering the keynote address, the President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, described Nneji as a visionary entrepreneur whose commitment to innovation, operational excellence and safety has helped redefine intercity transportation in Nigeria.

For more than three decades, Nneji has led the growth of ABC Transport Plc from a modest transport company into one of West Africa’s leading transportation and logistics brands. Today, the company operates in more than 100 locations across Nigeria, Ghana, Togo and the Republic of Benin, providing passenger transport, logistics and related services.

ABC Transport also made history as the first transport company to be listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, opening the sector to wider public investment and setting a new benchmark for the industry. The company currently has more than 22,000 shareholders.

Beyond passenger transportation, Nneji has expanded the company’s footprint into vehicle assembly through TSS Motors. At its Enugu assembly plant, FORLAND vehicles, SHACMAN trucks and TSS trailers are assembled, supporting local content development, creating jobs and advancing Nigeria’s industrialisation agenda.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and has served in several leadership positions, including President of the Owerri Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, as well as a board member of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).

Participants at the event described Nneji as a visionary entrepreneur whose investments have strengthened regional connectivity, facilitated trade and contributed significantly to economic growth across West Africa. They noted that his unwavering commitment to innovation, safety and service excellence has positioned ABC Transport as one of the continent’s most respected transport and logistics companies.
