The news of the passing of Former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, has sent shockwaves across the nation, with tributes pouring in from friends, family, and well-wishers.

 

One of the notable personalities to pay tribute to the late politician is former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Kalu, who described Ogbeh as a national icon and a true patriot.

 

In a condolence message issued on Saturday in Abakaliki, Kalu expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of Ogbeh, who died at the age of 78.

 

He recalled his interactions with the late politician, describing him as a man of uncommon wisdom, humility, and integrity.

 

According to Kalu, Ogbeh’s dedication to the service of Nigeria was unwavering, and his passion for the development of the country, particularly in agriculture and rural advancement, left an indelible mark.

 

Kalu, who is also a former Senate Chief Whip, noted that Ogbeh’s contributions to Nigeria’s growth and development will continue to resonate across the country.

 

He said that the late politician’s legacy will serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration to future generations of Nigerians.

 

Kalu also recalled Ogbeh’s role in championing policies and programmes that promoted food security, empowered rural communities, and inspired a new generation of farmers.

 

The former governor extended his condolences to the Ogbeh family, the government and people of Benue State, and Nigerians at large, praying to God to grant the deceased eternal rest and his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

 

He also acknowledged Ogbeh’s towering figure in Nigerian politics, saying that his demise has created a void that will be difficult to fill.
