The Acting Controller of the Port and Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command, Deputy Comptroller Nura Ibrahim. Speaking at the handover ceremony of the COWA PTML Chapter on Thursday, DC Miko described the occasion as more than a change of leadership, noting that it reflected the association’s commitment to continuity, service, and the well-being of Customs families.

He praised the immediate past leadership of the chapter, led by Mrs. Ifeoluwa Anani, for the successful execution of projects that positively impacted members and the wider Customs community.

According to the Controller, COWA’s most significant contribution extends beyond physical projects to the support it provides on the home front.

“While Officers are engaged in revenue collection, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling operations, our wives ensure that our homes remain stable, peaceful, and productive. A stable home is the foundation of effective service delivery, and for that, we remain grateful,” he said.

Miko congratulated the new Chairperson of the PTML Chapter, Hajiya Nabila Nura Miko, expressing confidence in her ability to build on the achievements of her predecessor and lead the association to greater heights.

He also reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting COWA’s activities, describing the association as a strategic partner in promoting the welfare of officers and their families. He assured members that the Command would continue to provide necessary support within its capacity, including logistics, facilities, and moral support, to ensure the success of the association’s programmes and initiatives.

The Acting Controller further acknowledged the leadership of Kikelomo Adeniyi, National President of COWA, for her efforts in strengthening chapters across the country and advancing the association’s objectives.

Earlier, the Acting Chairperson of the PTML Chapter expressed gratitude to the Command’s management and members of the association for their cooperation during her tenure.

She said she was handing over the mantle of leadership with a sense of fulfilment and confidence in the incoming Chairperson, while pledging her continued support for the new administration.
