Western Naval Command  Organises Route March to Promote Physical Fitness , Well-being

The Headquarters Western Naval Command (WNC) on Saturday conducted its Third Quarter Route March, a routine exercise aimed at maintaining the physical fitness and operational readiness of its personnel.

The event took place on September 20, 2025, at the Nigerian Navy Sports Complex in Navy Town, Ojo. This exercise is a vital component of the Command’s efforts to ensure that its personnel are always prepared to perform their duties effectively and efficiently.

 

The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) of the Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral MG Oamen, Grand Service Star (GSS), emphasized the significance of maintaining physical fitness during the exercise.

The FOC is who was  represented by the Command Operations Officer, Commodore A Muhammad, the FOC commended the personnel for their enthusiastic participation and appreciated the organizers for their efforts in coordinating the event.

He stressed that physical fitness is essential for personnel to remain proactive and responsive in safeguarding the Command’s Area of Responsibility (AOR).

The route march began at approximately 0630 hours from the Navy Town Sports Complex and proceeded to the Naval Ordnance Depot gate before returning to the starting point.

 The event concluded around 0830 hours, with personnel demonstrating their endurance and commitment to duty. The route march is a critical exercise that enables WNC personnel to assess their physical fitness levels and prepare for more demanding tasks.

The Third Quarter Route March saw an impressive turnout of personnel from the Western Naval Command, with many displaying remarkable enthusiasm and dedication.

The exercise provided an opportunity for personnel to come together and demonstrate their commitment to duty, as well as their physical fitness levels. The success of the event was a result of the collaborative efforts of the organizers and the participating personnel.
