The Association of West African Exporters and Maritime Professionals (Awaemap) has extended its appreciation to the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC),  Bashir Adewale Adeniyi for appointing a seasoned and experienced, Customs Area Controller (CAC),  Comptroller SO Ariyibi to lead the Lilypond Export Command  of Nigeria Customs Service.

This appointment has sparked optimism among exporters and stakeholders in the industry,.

During a  courtesy visit on Thursday, September 18, Awaemap had a successful and engaging interaction with the new Command’s CAC and his team,Lagos

 

The meeting revealed that the new, Comptroller Ariyibi is well-prepared and committed to advancing Nigeria’s export sector.

The Comptroller acknowledged the achievements of his predecessor and expressed his determination to build on that foundation, taking export facilitation to even greater heights.

 

He said  “Exporters are optimistic that under the new Comptroller’s leadership, the Export Command will foster a more enabling environment for trade, motivate stakeholders, and drive meaningful progress in the sector”

 

This development is expected to contribute significantly to national growth and prosperity, and stakeholders are eager to see the positive impact.

Speaking on behalf of Awaemap, President Hon. Olubunmi Olumekun stated that the association is encouraged by the vision and commitment of the new Comptroller.

 

Olumekun  expressed confidence that the new era will bring renewed progress and pledged Awaemap’s full cooperation and support to ensure that Nigeria’s export industry thrives under his leadership.
