CILT- NIG. Strengthens Collaboration With MAN-Oron on Professionalism in Industry

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Uyo Branch has recently paid a courtesy visit to the Management of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria  (MAN) Oron, Akwa Ibom State for robust professional maritime, logistics & transport education, Supply Chain Management and  other professional development in the Country.
According to the statement by the  Chairman, Publicity Committee, CILT-NG, Dr. Bashir Ambi, FCIL, the Chairman of Uyo Branch of the CILT branch, Mr. Itoro Okon Effiong,  disclosed this while addressing the Academy Management Team.
Itoro Okon  who was accompanied by some key Officers  from the branch, Oron, Calabar, and Next Generation branch of the oldest Transport & Logistics in the World, said;
”We are here to strengthen the professional relationship, CILT established with the Academy and to congratulate the newly appointed Acting Rector of the Academy,
Dr. Kevin Okonna.
We wish to reaffirmed the  Cilt’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the Academy. We  Congratulates you. The track records of your achievements in maritime leadership and educational development will always be remembered.”
The chairman added, ”your appointment is timely considering for him to add value to the maritime and logistics sectors, which are undergoing global and local transformation. Stressing the pivotal role the Maritime Academy is playing in shaping seafarers and maritime professionals across the Country, Africa which is  and equally the professional passion of CILT Nigeria.”
Effiong, further maintained ” We believe that by strengthening a robust professional partnerships with institutions like the Maritime Academy, we can jointly tackle critical industry challenges such as capacity building, technological advancement, and policy alignment in line with international standards,”
Responding, the Ag. Rector of Maritime Academy, Dr. Kevin Okonna
warmly welcomed the delegation and commended the CILT for its continued dedication to Maritime and Logistics education. He pledged robust institutional support for the Institute.
In a symbolic gesture, the CILT delegation presented a commemorative portrait to the Rector, honoring him as a distinguished member of the Institute,
The visit ended with a group photo and renewed optimism for a revitalized partnership between the Maritime Academy and CILT – NG.
