In a bid to resolve the lingering issue of “Suspended Customs Licenses” affecting some freight forwarders in the clearing and forwarding business in the country, the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has called on the affected members by the license suspension to forward necessary details relating to the issues at hand to the National Headquarters of the Association in Apapa-Lagos or via their official email address.
Fwdr. Godfrey Emeka Nwosu, NAGAFF’s Secretary General, who made this known in a statement issued on Saturday noted that the opportunity were given to members following NAGAFF’s recent letter to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, advocating for a reconsideration of these cases.
The letter reads: “To assist in compiling the required list for submission to the CGC, we urgently request all members with suspended Customs License to provide the following information: “Full Name of License Holder/Company (As it appears on the license), License Number, Date of Suspension (if known), Brief Reason for Suspension (if known), Contact Person, Phone Number and Email Address”.
The Secretary General of. NAGAFF however urged members to ensure submission of the required information through NAGAFF official email address on or deliver it in person to the association’s headquarters on or before Monday, 12th of May, 2025.
According to Nwosu, “the National Headquarters of NAGAFF is hopeful that there will be a positive resolution of the cases hence its determination to compile a comprehensive list to be forwarded to the CG Customs for his consideration”, he added.
