The Nigerian Navy has reiterated its commitment to building disciplined, knowledgeable, and responsible future leaders through its network of secondary schools across the country. This assurance came during the graduation of the 2024/2025 set of Senior Secondary 3 (SS3) students of the Nigerian Navy Secondary School (NNSS), Ogbomoso, held on 29 July 2025.
Delivering a goodwill message, the Flag Officer Commanding, Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Michael Gregory Oamen, described education as a critical pillar of national development, noting that the Navy’s schools are designed to produce young citizens who excel in academics, moral discipline, and leadership.
“Beyond preparing you for higher education, your time here has instilled in you the discipline, resilience, and values that will guide you through life. As you leave, I urge you to uphold the legacy of integrity, hard work, and service to humanity,” Oamen charged the graduates.
The Director of Naval Education, Rear Admiral Abolade Olanrele Ogunleye, said the Navy takes pride in shaping well-rounded students through a blend of academic excellence, character building, and extra-curricular engagement. He applauded the school’s management, staff, and parents for their collaborative effort in creating a conducive learning environment.

The ceremony also featured the unveiling of the school’s yearbook, *The Voice of Future Solutions*, a publication that documents the graduating class’s achievements, creative works, and school activities.
The Commandant of NNSS Ogbomoso, Captain EO Egwurube reaffirmed that the institution would continue to improve its facilities, uphold high teaching standards, and focus on producing graduates who can hold their own anywhere in the world.
The Nigerian Navy runs several secondary schools nationwide as part of its investment in youth development, ensuring that students are equipped with not just academic skills, but also values that promote discipline, patriotism, and national service.
