The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has launched its One-Stop-Shop (OSS) platform, aiming to go paperless by Q2 2026. This move is expected to accelerate cargo clearance, reduce delays, and boost efficiency across Nigerian borders.
Speaking at the launch of the event on Friday in Lagos, Comptroller-General, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi emphasized the OSS’s role in promoting transparency and accountability in border processes.
Adeniyi, who was represented by Deputy Comptroller-General Timi Bomodi, highlighted the platform’s potential to enhance investment and competitiveness under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.
“The OSS is a continuation of our trust-based engagement with the trading community and a key component of Nigeria’s broader digital transformation strategy,” Adeniyi said.
According to Adeniyi, delays at Nigerian ports are often caused not by the time taken for inspections, but by fragmented procedures, overlapping checks, and idle waiting times. The OSS addresses these bottlenecks, centralizing valuation processes, processing centres, intelligence and enforcement, compliance monitoring, and gate operations into a single workflow.
“The digital platform now consolidates all risk interventions into a single interface, eliminating procedural complications and improving clearance efficiency,” said Deputy Comptroller-General Caroline Kemen Niagwan.
Niagwan urged officers at ports and border stations to take ownership of the process, emphasizing that active participation from all teams will ensure the platform’s.

The President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Mr Emenike Nwokeoji expressed support for the OSS, saying, “We’re eager to see this and fully support it. Implementing the One-Stop-Shop will reduce human contact at the port, which is a welcome development.”
