The Founder of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, has warned members against violence and any act capable of disrupting the ongoing Apapa Chapter election.
Aniebonam directed the National President of NAGAFF, Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, to take firm action against anyone found disturbing the peace during the electoral process.
According to a statement signed by Dr. Clement Iwegbuna, National Publicity Secretary, NAGAFF Headquarters, on Sunday in Lagos, Aniebonam directed that anyone found to have breached the peace should be reported to the Nigeria Police for investigation.
He further ordered that any person found culpable after investigation should be charged to court immediately.
The NAGAFF founder stressed that membership of the association is voluntary, saying there was no justification for anyone to remain in the organisation while engaging in activities capable of threatening its peace and stability.
He said the NAGAFF high command would not fold its arms and allow anyone to foment trouble within the association, adding that members who were dissatisfied with the organisation had the option of joining another association.
Aniebonam also cautioned against allowing what he described as perceived leadership failures in some sister associations to take root in NAGAFF.
He appealed to voters and contestants in the Apapa Chapter election to maintain peace and comply with the rules of engagement, electoral guidelines and constitutional provisions governing the association’s elections.
“Enough is enough,” Aniebonam said, urging all stakeholders to conduct themselves responsibly and allow the electoral process to proceed peacefully.
