According to Chief Superintendent of Customs Abdullahi Maiwada, the spokesman of the service who also attended the conference noted that securing SABRE recognition speaks volumes to the winners’ highest level of creativity, integrity and effectiveness in both public relations and governance, as it is the largest continental awards competition for the public relations industry in Africa.

Commenting on the award, CGC Adeniyi appreciated the organisers, “I am very grateful for this recognition, but I hope that this will inspire us in Nigeria Customs Service and will provide impactful leadership in governance in Nigeria.”

The CGC added, “I also want to express my sincere gratitude to Image Marchants – those behind the PR exploits in Nigeria. Of course, it has been four days of networking, meeting with people, and positive public relations – and I am optimistic that APRA will continue to wax stronger.”

The Comptroller-General of Customs is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and an active member of the African Public Relations Association (APRA).
