The Seme Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) recently held a heartfelt ceremony to bid farewell to its outgoing Public Relations Officer (PRO), Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC) Isah Sulaiman. As he prepares to assume a new role at the Apapa Area Command, colleagues, sister agencies, and the media gathered to pay tribute to Sulaiman’s dedication, professionalism, and humility.

Speaking during the ceremony, Comptroller Wale Adenuga, Customs Area Controller,(CAC) Nigeria Customs Service, delivered a heartfelt tribute to Sulaiman, extolling his virtues as an exceptional communicator and one of the most outstanding Public Relations Officers in the annals of Nigeria Customs Service history.

Adenuga expressed his appreciation for the seamless working relationship he has had with Sulaiman, crediting him with making his job easier. He described Sulaiman as an embodiment of humility and one of the best PROs in the entire Customs Service. This sentiment was echoed by many who have had the pleasure of working with Sulaiman, highlighting his ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and sister agencies.

CAC observed that Sulaiman’s remarkable presence had not only stabilized but also elevated the Seme Command to new heights, and that his exit would be deeply felt by the entire command. Nevertheless, he expressed unwavering confidence that Sulaiman’s enduring legacy would continue to motivate and inspire successive generations of officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and service excellence.

The send-forth ceremony was not only a celebration of Sulaiman’s accomplishments but also an opportunity to honour the retirement of Deputy Comptroller Audu Samson Edime, Head of the Scanning Unit. Edime was praised for “finishing well” after years of dedicated service. Speakers assured him that retirement does not mark the end of service to the nation, and that his wealth of experience would continue to contribute to the Nigeria Customs and the country at large.

The media fraternity, which had had the privilege of working with Sulaiman, described him as a bridge builder, a true friend of the press, and a beacon of humility. They noted that his qualities endeared him not only to colleagues but to every stakeholder fortunate enough to work with him. His ability to build relationships and foster inter-agency synergy was a hallmark of his service.

As Sulaiman assumes his new role, he leaves behind a Command that is stronger, more united, and more professional, thanks to his tireless efforts. His legacy of excellence, humility, and dedication to duty will continue to inspire his colleagues and serve as a model for others to emulate. The impact of his leadership and mentorship will be felt for a long time, and his departure will be deeply felt by all who have had the pleasure of working with him.

CSC ISAH SULAIMAN

In his farewell speech, Sulaiman expressed gratitude to God, the Service, and his colleagues for the opportunity to serve. He acknowledged the support he received from Comptroller Adenuga, stating that the CAC laid the foundation for his success at the Seme Command. Sulaiman pledged to continue discharging his responsibilities to the best of his ability, wherever he is posted.
