In a bid to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has announced a significant restructuring of its management team.
This strategic redeployment, affecting 56 management staff, aims to strengthen inter-departmental collaboration and inject fresh energy into the system, ultimately improving performance across the maritime sector.
The Director General of NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, emphasized that the exercise is part of efforts to achieve the Agency’s core mandate. According to him, the redeployment will foster synergy among departments and drive sustainable maritime development in Nigeria.
With this move, Dr. Mobereola expects the redeployed Directors to leverage their experience and work collectively towards achieving the Agency’s strategic objectives.
As part of the new structure, several key appointments have been made. Notably, Hajia Moji Jimoh has been appointed as Director, Administration and Human Resources, while Aishatu Jidda takes on the role of Director, Planning, Research and Data Management Services. Additionally, Barr. Heaky Dimowo has been appointed as Director, Legal Services/Board Secretary, and Isichei Osamgbi as Director, SERVICOM.
Furthermore, the Agency has announced the appointment of Mrs. Olubusola Obasanjo-Akande as Director, Western Zone; Engr. Christopher Amakulo as Director, Special Duties; and Ms. Gloria Anyasodo as Director, Cabotage Services. Other appointments include Salihu Abdullahi Yelwa as Director, Shipping Development; Mrs. Nneka Obianyor as Director, Reforms Coordination and Blue Economy; and Umar Ibrahim Sidi as Director, Maritime Labour Services.
The redeployment also sees Dr. Oma Ofodile taking on the role of Director, Marine Environment Management; Mr. Buba Umar as Director, Abuja Zonal Office; and Ahmed Shittien as Special Adviser Technical to the DG. According to Dr. Mobereola, these changes reflect the Agency’s commitment to rejigging operations and driving sustainable maritime development in Nigeria.
The Director General has urged the affected management staff to bring their expertise to bear and work collectively towards achieving the Agency’s strategic objectives. With this new structure, NIMASA aims to enhance its service delivery and drive growth in the maritime sector.
