In a bid to assess operational efficiency and strengthen trade facilitation across Nigeria’s logistics chain, the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has commended the Rolling Gazing Bonded Terminal following a nationwide inspection of licensed bonded facilities, describing its performance as compliant with required standards.
The commendation followed an on-the-spot assessment conducted on Thursday in Lagos by NAGAFF’s Trade Advocacy Committee, which is evaluating bonded terminals across the country to determine their operational capacity, service delivery levels, and contribution to easing port congestion.
Leading the delegation, NAGAFF Founder, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, praised the terminal’s automation systems, cargo handling infrastructure, security arrangements, and overall readiness for operations, noting that such facilities are key to improving cargo efficiency and reducing pressure on seaports.
He stated that, “The infrastructure is available, the equipment is functional, and the operators are fully prepared for business,” stressing the importance of modern bonded terminals in addressing logistics challenges in the maritime sector.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Trade Advocacy Committee, Dr. Increase Uche, described the facility as well-equipped and service-driven, adding that its strategic location and expansion potential position it for future development into a major logistics hub.
The Operational Manager of the facility, Stanley Enoma, said the terminal operates advanced digital systems, including Terminal Operating System (TOS) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) platforms, and is expanding capacity to handle up to 5,000 TEUs.
NAGAFF said the nationwide inspection exercise will continue across other bonded terminals, with the aim of identifying gaps and producing recommendations to improve efficiency, compliance, and trade facilitation within Nigeria’s maritime sector.
