The Commissioner of police CP in charge of Ports Authority (Western) Command Olarenwaju Olawale Ishola has assured stakeholders of adequate security around the nation’s ports during and after the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations..

This is even as he on behalf of officers and men of the Western Command felicitated with stakeholders and the business community particularly the Muslim ummah on the occasion of the 2024 Sallah festivities.

In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson ,Isaac Hundeyin ASP on Sunday June 16 , ,the Commissioner said enough human,material and operational assets have been strategically deployed for adequate coverage of the Western Ports Area of responsibility which include the Apapa,Tin Can,Lekki Deep-Sea ,and other lighter terminals.

“The Area Commander,Divisional Police Officers,(DPOs) and other specialized units like the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit (EOD) and the canine (K9) Unit have strategically deployed all crime prevention assets within their disposal,while their men remain on red alert.

The ports police marine department have also been directed to properly patrol the ports perimeters to avoid any incursion through the waterways .

The CP enjoins all to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice ,peace ,and love which the season is centered on while everyone remains vigilant and report any untoward incident or suspicious activity around them to the nearest police station.” CP Ishola stated.
