The Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has called on Nigerians, particularly Muslims, to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, love, unity, and patriotism during this year’s Eid al-Adha celebration. The call was contained in a statement signed by the Agency’s Deputy Director and Head of Public Relations, Osagie Edward.

In his goodwill message to NIMASA staff, maritime stakeholders, and the Muslim community, Dr. Mobereola described the festival as a reminder of obedience, devotion, empathy, and selflessness, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command.

According to him, “This season reminds us of the importance of sacrifice, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion. Let us reflect these values in our daily lives by showing love to one another, demonstrating patriotism, and remaining steadfast in our faith.”

The NIMASA Director-General also expressed appreciation to the Agency’s staff and stakeholders in the maritime sector for their continued support, commitment, and dedication to the growth of Nigeria’s maritime industry and the expansion of the Blue Economy.

“Eid Mubarak to our valued staff and stakeholders. May this blessed occasion bring peace, joy, and prosperity to all,” he added.

Dr. Mobereola further urged Nigerians to reflect on the values of charity, communal harmony, sacrifice, and compassion associated with the Eid al-Adha celebration, while encouraging citizens to work together towards building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous nation.

Reaffirming its commitment to national development, NIMASA stated that it would continue to support initiatives and policies aimed at strengthening the maritime sector and driving economic growth.
