The Commissioner of Police Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, CP Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola psc(+) mnips wishes to sensitize Port users, the business community, and members of the public on the need to scrutinize information they come across in the electronic and print media and be wary of fake and sensational news which is already in circulation as regards the protest.
This is was contained in a statement by ASP Isaac Hundryin, Police Public Relations Officer, Ports Authority Police (Western) Command Apapa, Lagos.
According to the CP Olarewaju, such misinformation is capable of misguiding potential peaceful protesters against other law-abiding citizens to incite violence.
CP assured strict adherence to the rules of engagement and international best practices in upholding the fundamental human rights.
He said : “the Command however reminded hoodlums planning to infiltrate the process to wreak havoc that such actions will be met with fierce resistance as no form of destruction to Ports facilities, road blockage or unauthorized entrance into all Port complexes would be tolerated”
