The political season for Local Government elections has begun in Lagos State, with various groups and interests aligning themselves in preparation for the polls. In the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, a particular candidate has garnered significant support from different quarters.
Honourable Chika Maureen Ashara, the incumbent Vice Chairman, has been endorsed by about five different groups, all of whom believe she is the best candidate for the position.

The Igbo Stakeholders United Forum, in a letter signed by its national president and secretary, expressed confidence in Ashara’s competence, vision, and loyalty to the progressive ideals of the party. They believe her emergence as Vice Chairman will strengthen the APC’s grassroots appeal in Amuwo-Odofin and solidify the party’s support base within the Igbo community in Lagos.

Another group, Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Amuwo Odofin Local Government chapter, also wrote a letter endorsing Ashara for re-election. They praised her leadership skills and commitment to equitable governance, noting that she has been a bridge-builder between the indigenous people and the Igbo community residing in Amuwo Odofin.

The Ndi Igbo in APC, Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, also endorsed Ashara’s candidacy, citing her capacity, loyalty to the party, and commitment to public service. They believe she is an ideal candidate for the position and can foster a greater working relationship between the party and the Igbo community.

The parish of the church where Ashara worships, RCCG Joseph’s Palace Parish, also lent its support, describing her as a woman of integrity, diligence, and commitment to community development. The parish pastor praised her leadership qualities, humility, and godliness.

The Ndigboamaka Progressive Markets Association, an umbrella body of all markets associations of people from the Igbo ethnic group, also endorsed Ashara’s candidacy. They praised her exceptional leadership skills, integrity, and deep understanding of the needs and concerns of the community.

The various letters of endorsement highlight Ashara’s track record of service and community development. Her supporters believe she is the best candidate for the Vice Chairmanship position and are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to see her emerge victorious.

The support for Ashara’s candidacy is a testament to her dedication to public service and her ability to build bridges between different communities. Her re-election bid has gained significant momentum, and it remains to be seen how the party will respond to the overwhelming support for her candidacy.
