CGC Adeniyi’s Stellar Performance Earns Him Extension of Service, Says Dr. Aniebonam

The recent extension of the Service of Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Adewale Adeniyi  MFR has been hailed as a reward for high performance in service delivery. The extension is also seen as an opportunity for Nigeria to sustain its chairmanship of the World Customs Organisation (WCO).

 

 

 

Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, Founder of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), said that the management team and Officers and men of the Customs service have earned themselves honour and respect for their high performance in various areas, including revenue collection, suppression of smuggling, trade facilitation, stakeholders’ engagement, electronic systems innovation, and international relrelations.

Aniebonam disclosed this on Friday in a statement signed and sent to Newspoint247 online.

According to toAniebonam, “The truth is that his management team and officers and men of the service have earned themselves honour and respect for high performance in the area of revenue collection, suppression of smuggling, trade facilitation, stakeholders engagement, electronic systems innovation and international relations.

“The extension of CGC Adeniyi’s service implies that he and his high-performance management team are likely to serve for two more years, enabling Nigeria to complete its two-year tenure as chair of the WCO.

“By implication, Wale Adeniyi and his high-performance management team are likely to go two years more to enable Nigeria serve out it’s WCO tenure of two years,”

Dr. Aniebonam expressed hope that with Ngozi Iweala at the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and Adeniyi at the WCO, the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu is yielding results.
