In a recent press release issued today, Public Analyst Habib Ahmed warned of a concerted campaign of malicious attacks against top government officials, including Dr. Bello Matawalle, Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Nuhu Ribadu, and the Inspector General of Police. The attacks are reportedly being orchestrated by individuals linked to Bashir Hadeija, a man currently under investigation for serious criminal activities.

According to the release, Hadeija, who was recently arrested, has been implicated in a series of subversive activities, including the possession of gold allegedly bearing the inscription of the late Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi. The arrest of Hadeija has reportedly caused panic among certain high-profile individuals, including the Governor of Zamfara State and a former National Security Adviser, who are now allegedly sponsoring a smear campaign against Dr. Matawalle and other key government figures.

The press release suggests that the arrest and subsequent revelations by Hadeija have led to a series of spurious accusations against government officials, as those implicated seek to deflect attention and discredit those involved in the investigation. Despite these efforts, Dr. Matawalle and other officials remain focused on their duties, particularly in enhancing national security.

Ahmed urged the public to disregard the ongoing attacks, characterizing them as desperate attempts by Hadeija’s associates to undermine the integrity of government institutions and officials. He assured that the investigations would continue, and justice would be served regardless of the attempts to obstruct it.

“The anticipated attacks from the named accomplices of Bashir Hadeija against high-profile Nigerians should be ignored. A person who stole gold from Libya can say anything to anybody,” the statement concluded.
