Customs, NSCDC, Correctional Service Forge Stronger Security Ties in Oyo

The Acting Customs Area Controller of the Oyo/Osun Area Command, DC Wale Moses Adewole, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to enhanced inter-agency collaboration following a series of courtesy visits to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service in Oyo State.

 

According to a press statement signed by the Command Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs I Abdulmalik Akintola, the visits were aimed at strengthening institutional relationships and enhancing operational synergy among sister security agencies in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities.

The statement noted that DC Adewole emphasized the need for sustained cooperation, intelligence sharing, and mutual support among relevant government agencies to effectively tackle security challenges, combat smuggling, secure national borders, and facilitate lawful trade across the country.

 

The statement further disclosed that the visits formed part of the Command’s broader strategy to consolidate existing partnerships and establish stronger channels of communication for coordinated responses to security challenges within Oyo and Osun States.

It added that the leadership of both the NSCDC and the Nigerian Correctional Service commended the initiative and reaffirmed their readiness to sustain cordial working relationships with the Nigeria Customs Service in pursuit of shared national objectives, effective security administration, and the protection of government interests and the public.
