The Nigerian Navy Secondary School, (NNSS) Ibara-Abeokuta, Ogun State, has emerged winners at the prestigious Science Quiz Competition organized by the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Abeokuta Chapter.
The competition, held on February 10, 2026, brought together some of the top secondary schools in Abeokuta and its environs. Demonstrating exceptional brilliance, teamwork, and mastery of scientific concepts, the Navy Boys outperformed their counterparts, to clinch the First Position.
According to the organizers, the quiz competition was designed to promote excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education among young learners. The participating schools were rigorously tested on various aspects of science and engineering, making the victory a remarkable achievement for the winning team.

In recognition of their outstanding performance, the students were invited to the NSE Award Dinner, where they were formally presented with the award for Best in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education. The award ceremony celebrated their academic excellence and commitment to innovation.
The school community expressed pride in the students’ accomplishment, describing the victory as a testament to the institution’s dedication to academic excellence and holistic development.
The triumph further reinforces Nigerian Navy Secondary School Abeokuta’s reputation as a leading institution in science education and a strong contender in academic competitions across the region.
