The Edo/Delta Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), under the leadership of Comptroller Judith Kanu, has joined well meaning Nigerians, family and friends of the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), and Chair of the WCO, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, PhD, Mfr, Fnipr, DSS, psc(+), to congratulate him as he turned 60.
The Comptroller of Edo/Delta Command sent a congratulatory message to the CGC whose administration has recorded significant milestones and marked by years of dedicated service to the nation, hard work, and a commitment to excellence.
“On behalf of the officers and men of the Edo/Delta Command, I respectfully extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes to you on this auspicious occasion of your birthday”
For instituting landmark reforms that have repositioned the NCS for efficient service delivery, as well as improved community relations, increased revenue, and enhanced trade with other countries, Kanu added, “We wish you continued success, sound health, and renewed strength to further steer the Nigeria Customs Service to greater and more enviable heights.
“Your visionary leadership has remarkably transformed the Service and has been instrumental in modernising Customs operations across the nation”
For positively projecting Nigeria and Africa by providing inclusive, practical and charismatic leadership at the WCO, she added, “May your exemplary leadership continue to inspire excellence in trade facilitation and contribute meaningfully to national economic growth and development, happy birthday, Sir”.

Earlier, President Tinubu in congratulatory letter through his Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, commended Adeniyi’s efforts in transforming the NCS into a globally competitive institution, culminating in his election as Chairman of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) in June 2025.
“As the Customs boss turns 60, we pray that God will strengthen you, bless you with good health and wisdom to keep serving our beloved country” she prayed
