The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) is saddened to announce the passing of the wife of its former President, Elder Asu Beks, Mrs. Helen Asu Beks, who departed this life on Thursday, 15th November 2025. The Association extends its deepest condolences to Elder Asu Beks and his family on this painful loss.

MARAN is shocked and grieved by this news, and its members are offering prayers for the family during this difficult time. The Association wishes to assure Elder Asu Beks and his family that they are not alone in their sorrow, as the entire maritime community shares in their grief.

As the family mourns the loss of this great matriarch, MARAN prays that the Almighty God will grant her a peaceful rest and provide solace to those she has left behind. The Association is confident that the memories of Mrs. Helen Asu Beks will continue to inspire and motivate her family and the community at large.

In this trying time, MARAN urges Elder Asu Beks and his family to draw strength from their faith and the outpouring of love and support from friends, colleagues, and well-wishers.
