In a landmark achievement for Nigeria and the African continent, Adewale Adeniyi,Comptroller General of Customs has been elected as the Chairperson of the World Customs Organisation (WCO). Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, chairman of SIFAX Group, attributed this success to Adeniyi’s exemplary leadership and unwavering professionalism.

In a statement personally signed by Afolabi, he expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Adeniyi, emphasizing that his election is a testament to his profound expertise and steadfast commitment to reforming the Nigeria Customs Service.

 “This well-deserved recognition is not only a source of national pride but also a momentous achievement for the African continent and the maritime industry as a whole,” Afolabi stated.

Afolabi noted that Adeniyi’s ascension to this prestigious global position underscores his integrity, strategic vision, and dedication to excellence.

He expressed confidence that Adeniyi’s leadership will bring significant benefits to the WCO Council, particularly in the areas of global trade facilitation, customs modernization, and international collaboration.
