The National President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), High Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, has been honoured with the Golden Era Pillar of Logistics Excellence, Purposeful Entrepreneur, Philanthropy and National Development Award by the Radio, Television, Theatre and Art Workers’ Union (RATTAWU).
The award was presented on Monday at the Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, during the RATTAWU Safe Democracy Summit and Golden Honours, themed “Electoral Integrity in an AI Era: The Role of Responsible Media and Culture in Safeguarding Democracy.”
The event drew government officials, labour leaders, communication experts, traditional rulers, freight forwarders and business executives from across the country.
Presenting the award, RATTAWU National President, Prince Emeka Kalu, said Ezisi was recognised for his contributions to logistics, entrepreneurship, philanthropy and national development. He described the NAGAFF President as a leader whose commitment to humanitarian causes and community development has positively impacted many lives.
Kalu said the union believes individuals who distinguish themselves through hard work, integrity and selfless service deserve to be celebrated. He also reaffirmed RATTAWU’s commitment to defending the rights of workers, promoting justice and supporting vulnerable members of society.
Among the dignitaries at the event were representatives of the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, and the Minister of Labour and Employment. Also in attendance were the President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku, who chaired the event; the President of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria, Prof. Rotimi Williams Olatunji, who delivered the keynote address; representatives of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police; NAGAFF Founder, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam; as well as traditional rulers, freight forwarders and business leaders.
Representing the Minister of Information and National Orientation, the ministry’s Director of Public Relations and Protocol, Dr. Suleiman Haruna, said enquiries about Ezisi’s background showed him to be a man widely respected for his generosity and service to humanity.
He described the NAGAFF President as “a mighty river that irrigates lands and people,” noting that his support for individuals and communities has earned him admiration from many.
Chairman of the NAGAFF Board of Trustees, Mr. Chidiebere Enelamah, and the association’s National Vice President, Princess Chi Ezeh, also commended Ezisi’s leadership and humanitarian efforts, describing the honour as well deserved.
Enelamah also praised Ezisi’s wife for her support, saying she has played an important role in his success.
Representatives of the Imperial Philanthropic Family equally applauded the NAGAFF President for his longstanding commitment to charitable causes, urging him to remain steadfast in touching more lives.
Responding to the honour, an emotional Chief Tochukwu Ezisi thanked God, his family, friends and supporters for standing by him over the years.
He also expressed appreciation to the Founder of NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, for giving him the opportunity to serve the association, and thanked RATTAWU for recognising his contributions.
Ezisi pledged to continue supporting the union whenever called upon and reaffirmed his commitment to serving humanity, strengthening the freight forwarding industry and contributing to national development.
He described the award as one of the most memorable recognitions of his life and thanked everyone who attended the ceremony for sharing the moment with him.
