The Nigeria Police Force has pledged to strengthen collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Lagos and Ogun states.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2, Lagos, Mr Adegoke Fayoade, made the pledge in a statement on Thursday after visiting the FRSC Zonal Command.

The visit was to the office of ACM Ann Oladayo, Zonal Commanding Officer in charge of Lagos and Ogun states, at Ojodu, Lagos.
Fayoade commended Oladayo for her commitment to inter-agency collaboration, noting that she had maintained strong cooperation since her appointment a few months ago.
“We are committed to ensuring safer roads within our areas of responsibility. We will support FRSC’s end-of-year road safety campaigns with necessary security at flashpoints,” he said.
He pledged to champion a workshop involving the police, FRSC, and other security agencies, which would later be cascaded to officers at operational levels.
According to him, the workshop would strengthen unity among senior officers and rank-and-file personnel of the agencies, leading to smoother and more effective operations across the zone.
In her remarks, Oladayo stressed the need for stronger synergy between the police and FRSC to achieve better results on road safety and security.
She explained that her roadmap for Lagos and Ogun, aligned with the Corps Marshal’s policy thrust, aimed to reduce road traffic crashes by at least ten per cent.
“We will intensify enforcement on overloading and embark on joint operations during the ‘ember’ months,” Oladayo stated.
Describing Fayoade as the “crime-fighting AIG” and herself as the “crash-fighting ZCO,” she proposed informal events to foster closer ties among junior officers.
She added that workshops for lower cadres would encourage sharing of ideas and operational strategies, improving seamless service delivery by both the police and FRSC.
Oladayo also sought more armed backup support during night patrols, especially to tackle the recurring problem of vehicle overloading within Lagos and Ogun states.
