The award, “Excellence in Maritime Infrastructure Modernization & Global Competitiveness,” is a testament to Dr. Dantsoho’s remarkable achievements in the maritime sector. His sterling performance scorecard, which includes deepening efficiencies that catalyzed the attainment of a national trade surplus through unprecedented growth in exports, was particularly noteworthy. This accomplishment has significantly contributed to Nigeria’s economic growth and development.

Another significant achievement that earned Dr. Dantsoho recognition is setting the pace for the National Single Window (NSW) through the Port Community System (PCS). This innovative initiative has streamlined port operations, enhancing efficiency and reducing costs for stakeholders. Furthermore, Dr. Dantsoho has been at the forefront of galvanizing global investors’ interest in the modernization of Nigerian Ports infrastructure and equipment. His efforts have not only improved the nation’s maritime infrastructure but also positioned Nigeria as a major player in the global maritime industry.

Under Dr. Dantsoho’s leadership, Nigeria has also gained significant influence in the comity of Maritime nations. Notably, the country has assumed the presidency of the Port Management Association of West Africa (PMAWCA) and the Vice-Presidency of the International Association for Ports & Harbours (IAPH). These positions are a testament to Nigeria’s growing importance in the global maritime sector and Dr. Dantsoho’s instrumental role in achieving this status.

The award ceremony, held at the Presidential Villa, is a high-profile event that recognizes outstanding public servants who have made significant contributions to their respective fields. Dr. Dantsoho’s recognition is a reflection of his commitment to excellence and his contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria’s maritime sector. The event was attended by high-ranking government officials, and Dr. Dantsoho’s achievement was celebrated by his peers and stakeholders in the maritime industry.

Dr. Dantsoho’s achievement is also attributed to his supportive role, under the guidance of the Hon. Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, in Nigeria’s re-enlistment into the Influential “Category C” of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). This re-enlistment is a significant achievement, as it demonstrates Nigeria’s commitment to international maritime standards and its active participation in global maritime governance.

The NEAPS award is a significant recognition of Dr. Dantsoho’s hard work and dedication to excellence in public service. It serves as a motivation for him to continue making significant contributions to the maritime sector and Nigeria’s economic growth.
