The founder of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr Boniface Aniebonam, has donated ₦2 million to support logistics for the forthcoming Apapa Chapter election.

Aniebonam donated ₦1 million each to the Umeadi and Emeka groups to assist with their logistical needs as preparations for the election gather momentum.

The donation is aimed at ensuring that the groups are adequately supported for the electoral exercise and can effectively participate in the forthcoming poll.

Aniebonam, who is also the Chairman and founder of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), called on all contestants and voters to prepare for the election and allow the process to proceed peacefully.

He also called for an end to litigation, petitions and other avoidable disputes, urging all parties to put the interest and unity of NAGAFF above individual interests.

According to him, the time has come for all contestants and their supporters to stop actions capable of creating tension or further dividing members of the association.

The National President of NAGAFF, Akuyie Nwata Agulu, is determined to ensure that the Apapa Chapter election is transparent, credible and people-oriented, Aniebonam said.

The association warned that any further attempt by any group to distract or disrupt the electoral process would attract disciplinary action, including expulsion from the NAGAFF family without further notice.

National officers, board members and members of established standing committees at the national headquarters were also warned against openly supporting or meddling in the affairs of any contestant.

The leadership said any national officer, board member or standing committee member found supporting a contestant openly or interfering in the electoral process would be relieved of the responsibility and expelled from NAGAFF.

The warning is part of efforts to prevent further division within the association and ensure that the Apapa Chapter election is conducted in a peaceful and credible atmosphere.

A new electoral guideline is expected to be released shortly from the office of the National President to provide direction for contestants, voters and other stakeholders ahead of the poll.

Aniebonam urged all members to respect the electoral process and work together to preserve the unity of NAGAFF, which he described as “one large, happy family.”

I wish you all a successful election.
