The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS)TinCan Island Command has renovated Christ Assembly Nursery and Primary School, providing a conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers.
The school, established in 1960, is located in Araromi, Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos.
The renovation, undertaken by the Tin Can Island Port Command in collaboration with the NCS Headquarters in Abuja, has equipped the school with state-of-the-art facilities. The project is part of the NCS’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, “Customs Cares.”
Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi MFR, commissioned the project on Thursday. He expressed satisfaction that the intervention had provided a better learning environment for students and had ignited the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

The NCS aims to directly support 50,000 students by 2025. So far, 12,000 students have received help, including 5,000 in Lagos, with 2,000 presented with educational items.
Adeniyi stated that the service would continue to intervene in education, healthcare, sports, Information Communication Technology (ICT), and support for the less privileged. The next intervention will be to support sports development in the community.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Education, Tolani Ali-Balogun, appreciated the Customs for the project and promised that the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) would ensure proper maintenance.
The Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Esther Ogunfuyi, expressed gratitude for the NCS’s generosity and concern for education. The service also provided educational materials to pupils and offered free medical checkups.
