The Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has announced a remarkable revenue collection of ₦424,584,608,992.26 as of December 12, 2025.
This impressive achievement was revealed by Comptroller Joe Anani, Customs Area Controller of PTML Command on Wednesday, December 17th at the 2025 end-of-year party organized by the Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), PTML Chapter.
According to Comptroller Anani, the collection indicates a significant increase of over ₦62 billion compared to the ₦362.5 billion collected in 2024, despite the year not having ended.
Comptroller Anani attributed the success to the effective implementation of the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), also known as B’Odogwu.
He expressed optimism that the command would continue to build on this achievement in the coming years.
The Area Controller also highlighted the command’s readiness to achieve a one-hour clearance time for compliant Roll On Roll Off (RoRo) cargoes in 2026, a move aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing clearance times.
In the area of anti-smuggling, Comptroller Anani recalled the successes made by the command in preventing the influx of illicit and expired drugs, arms, and ammunition, as well as other prohibited items that could endanger the lives of Nigerians. He specifically mentioned the seizure of ₦29.4 billion worth of cocaine, which was handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), as a significant anti-smuggling feat.
He expressed gratitude to the government and private sector stakeholders for their massive support, which has contributed to the command’s achievements. He specifically thanked the Nigeria Police, Department of State Service, Standards Organisation of Nigeria, National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control, and other sister agencies for their collaboration.
The COWA Chairperson for PTML Chapter, Mrs. Caroline Ifeoluwa Anani, described the end-of-year party as a continuation of the PTML Command’s tradition of togetherness. She highlighted the chapter’s activities in 2025, which included mental health awareness programs, blood pressure and sugar tests, eye screening and treatment, and the donation of medicated glasses.
Mrs. Anani also mentioned that COWA, PTML Chapter, held seminars on home management, food/nutrition, and family care products, as well as provided souvenirs for each COWA husband in PTML. The chapter’s community outreach programs aimed to promote the well-being of officers’ families and contribute to the betterment of the community.
The highpoint of the event was the donation of food items by the COWA PTML Chapter to women and children in the spirit of Christmas. This gesture reflects the chapter’s commitment to giving back to the community and spreading joy during the festive season.
