Amidst looming protests scheduled for June 12, the Commissioner of Police for the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, CP Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola has pledged robust security measures to safeguard vital port facilities, ensuring uninterrupted operations and the protection of critical national infrastructure.

In a press release issued today by the Police Public Relations Officer for the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, ASP Isaac Hundeyin outlined the measures in place to secure vital port facilities, including the Apapa Port, Tincan Island Port, Lekki Deep-Sea Port, and other lighter terminals. These ports are essential to the nation’s economy, and the command has strategized to ensure their uninterrupted operation.

To prevent disruptions, CP Olanrewaju assured the public of a free flow of traffic in and out of all port complexes. He emphasized that the command would not tolerate any road blockages, harassment, or intimidation of law-abiding citizens.

“We have mapped out strategies to ensure the close protection of critical national infrastructure and avoid all forms of vehicular clustering in and around the ports corridors,” he stated.

The Commissioner urged those conducting legitimate business at the ports to continue their activities without fear, reassuring them of their safety.
He also issued a stern warning to any miscreants planning to disrupt operations or infringe on the rights of others, stating that such actions would be met with legal consequences.ASP Isaac Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, echoed the Commissioner’s sentiments, stressing the command’s commitment to maintaining order and protecting the fundamental human rights of all Nigerians.
