The Seme Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service recently witnessed the launch of the second edition of the book “Customs Administration in Nigeria”, authored by Comptroller Ben Oramalugo PhD, FCIA, FNIM. The event, which took place at the Seme-Krake Joint Border Post, was attended by dignitaries from various security and regulatory agencies operating at the border.
In his keynote address, Comptroller Oramalugo described the book as a product of years of professional experience, academic research, and policy engagement. He noted that the revised edition responds to emerging challenges in customs operations, integrates ongoing reforms, and aligns with global standards in trade facilitation, security, and border management.
The Comptroller emphasized the importance of intellectual development in professional excellence, urging officers to embrace continuous learning as a core element of service. He also highlighted the role of the book in providing a practical framework for understanding, navigating, and improving customs systems in Nigeria and similar jurisdictions.
The event was attended by heads and representatives of various security and regulatory agencies, including the Comptroller of Immigration, Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Director of NAFDAC, and Commander of the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), among others. The dignitaries commended Comptroller Oramalugo for his intellectual contribution and for championing professionalism within the service.

Comptroller Oramalugo expressed his appreciation to the reviewers, editors, and all who contributed to the successful publication of the book.
