*** It’s the Beginning of Greater Revenue Exploits, Says Comptroller Oshoba

In a historic achievement, the Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has shattered records with a monumental ₦304 billion collection for the month of October 2025.

This remarkable feat represents the highest monthly revenue generation by any customs command in the history of the Service, surpassing the ₦264 billion collected in October 2024.
The unprecedented collection has brought the total revenue generated by the Command for the first ten months of 2025 to ₦2,402,141,493,747.06, demonstrating a significant increase in revenue collection. This achievement is a testament to the command’s commitment to exceeding its revenue targets and its potential for growth.
Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, Customs Area Controller, Apapa Command, has commended his Officers and stakeholders for their contributions to this remarkable achievement. He emphasized that this success is just the beginning, as the Command is poised to build on this momentum and achieve even greater heights in revenue collection.
To further enhance revenue collection and trade facilitation, the Command is set to introduce a drive-through scanning system. This innovative approach aims to process an average of 150 containers per hour, significantly reducing clearance times and increasing efficiency. The Command is also committed to ensuring that all stakeholders are compliant with Customs regulations, with a focus on preventing revenue leakages.
Comptroller Oshoba has also warned that the Command will not tolerate duty evasion, with a zero-tolerance stance on the misapplication of Harmonized System (HS) codes. The Command is taking a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential revenue leakages, ensuring that all stakeholders comply with Customs.
“The Apapa Command is working closely with other stakeholders, including the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and licensed Customs agents, to facilitate trade and ensure the efficient movement of goods. “The command is also engaging with stakeholders to promote compliance with Customs regulations and prevent delays in the clearance of goods”
Comptroller Oshoba has emphasized the importance of partnership and collaboration in achieving the command’s goals. He has personally engaged with stakeholders, including truckers, freight forwarders, and licensed customs agents, to promote cooperation and facilitate the movement of goods.
“The Apapa Command’s achievement is a significant milestone in its efforts to enhance revenue collection and trade facilitation. “With a renewed focus on collaboration, innovation, and compliance, the command is poised to continue to exceed its revenue targets and contribute to the growth of the Nigerian economy, the CAC said.
