ACG Babandede Commends Apapa Customs Command For Outstanding Performance

The Zonal Coordinator of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs (ACG) Mohammed Babandede on Thursday, February 5th ,visited Apapa Area Command, where he commended the Officers and men for their exceptional performance in revenue generation, anti-smuggling operations, and trade facilitation.

 The visit was aimed at acknowledging the Command’s notable achievements and boosting the morale of personnel.

During the visit, the ACG Babandede emphasized the importance of integrity, reputational management, mentorship, and capacity building within the Command.

 He urged senior officers to transfer knowledge and experience to younger Officers, while also stressing the importance of officers’ welfare and health.

 

The Zonal Coordinator disclosed that drug tests would be conducted across Commands, advising Officers to remain health-conscious for effective service delivery. The Apapa Area Command has made significant strides in revenue generation, exceeding its annual target.

The Command’s sustained anti-smuggling efforts have resulted in significant seizures of narcotics and other illicit substances, including cocaine and tramadol. These interceptions have contributed to national security, public safety, and the prevention of substance abuse.

 

He commended the Command’s effective inter-agency collaboration, noting that it has facilitated trade and enhanced national security,urged Officers to deepen their collaboration with sister agencies, promoting a culture of cooperation and mutual support.

 

Zonal Coordinator said, “Apapa Area Command’s achievements in revenue collection and anti-smuggling efforts have been remarkable’ “The Command has consistently surpassed its targets, demonstrating its commitment to effective service delivery.”

 

In his remarks, the Customs Area Controller, Apapa Area Command, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, expressed appreciation for the Zonal Coordinator’s visit, acknowledging the Command’s achievements in revenue generation and anti-smuggling efforts.

 

 The Zonal Coordinator’s visit has underscored the importance of integrity, professionalism, and collaboration in the NCS, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining its performance, emphasizing the importance of integrity, trade facilitation, and cooperation with sister agencies.

 

The Apapa Area Command’s achievements serve as a testament to the effectiveness of the NCS’s strategies and initiatives. The Command’s continued commitment to excellence will undoubtedly contribute to the nation’s economic growth and development.
