BL Adigun Assumes Duty as KLT Customs Controller

The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has successfully conducted a handing over ceremony, marking a significant leadership transition.

On Friday, December 5th, 2025, Deputy Comptroller BL Adigun assumed office as the new Acting Customs Area Controller, taking over from Assistant Comptroller General E. J. Edelduok, who has been appointed to the management team of the Service.

A formal ceremony was held at the Command’s conference hall, bringing together senior Officers, representatives of partner agencies, and key stakeholders.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony, Assistant Comptroller General E. J. Edelduok expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Customs and the management team for the opportunity to serve at KLT. She reflected on her tenure, describing it as fulfilling and impactful, and attributed the Command’s progress to the collective efforts of officers and stakeholders. ACG Edelduok extended her best wishes to Deputy Comptroller BL Adigun, urging everyone to extend their cooperation and loyalty to the new Acting Customs Area Controller.

Deputy Comptroller BL Adigun, in his acceptance speech, thanked the Comptroller-General of Customs for the confidence reposed in him. He commended ACG Edelduok for her exemplary leadership, which has yielded remarkable results, and assured stakeholders of his commitment to building on the Command’s achievements. The new Acting Customs Area Controller emphasized his administration’s priorities, including revenue generation, trade facilitation, anti-smuggling efforts, and operational integrity.

The new Acting Customs Area Controller outlined his vision for the Command, which includes fostering continuous collaboration with stakeholders and ensuring that officers remain disciplined, focused, and committed to the Service’s mandate. He expressed his determination to elevate the Command’s performance, leveraging the foundations laid by his predecessor.

The ceremony culminated in the formal signing of handover documents, a symbolic presentation of the Service’s flag, and group photographs, signifying the official transfer of authority. These symbolic acts marked the beginning of a new chapter in the Command’s history, as Deputy Comptroller BL Adigun assumes the mantle of leadership.

“As the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Command embarks on this new chapter, it is poised for sustained progress, strengthened partnerships, and enhanced service delivery.” The Command looks forward to a bright future, built on the foundations of teamwork, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.
