The maritime community is abuzz with celebration and reflection as Prince Olayiwola Shittu a titan of the industry and former National President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), marks his 75th birthday.

 

The ANLCA Vice President, Prince Segun Oduntan, led the chorus of tributes, describing Prince Shittu as a transformative leader who revolutionized the association’s politics and left an indelible legacy in the maritime industry

Prince Shittu’s leadership was marked by bold reforms, unity-driven initiatives, and a relentless pursuit of professionalism. He laid the bricks upon which modern customs practice now stands, and his name remains synonymous with integrity, vision, and excellence. Under his stewardship, ANLCA evolved from a fragmented body into a professional, respected, and entrepreneurial force

As a mentor, a pillar of support, and a bridge builder, Prince Shittu’s legacy continues to shape the customs brokerage landscape in Nigeria. His counsel is sought, his legacy admired, and his presence cherished. Even in retirement, he remains the unbowed lion of the freight forwarding community—respected, revered, and still relevant ³.

 

The maritime industry has witnessed significant transformations under Prince Shittu’s leadership. He championed digitalization and the professional certification of customs brokers, helping to elevate industry standards and improve Nigeria’s ease of doing business.
